A sibling DNA test is conducted to determine if two children share one or both parents (that is whether they are half or full siblings, or not at all). It is an indirect way to determine family relationships when an alleged father is not available for a paternity test. The DNA of siblings reveals matching genes. Full siblings show more matching genes than half siblings.
Siblingship DNA testing results are more accurate if a parent is available for collection, but tests can still be administered without parent DNA samples. Test results will still be statistically reliable if parents are not available. ARCpoint Labs tests any number of siblings in order to determine family relationships.
